Daptone ist das unabhängige von Vollblutmusikern geführte Label aus Brooklyn. Die Aufnahmen entstehen bewußt auf analogen Bandgeräten. Der Sound ist unverwechselbar. Die Musik ist vollkommen neu, scheint aber aus den besten Zeiten von Motown und Stax zu stammen. Künstler wie Sharon Jones, Naomi Shelton, Charles Bradley, Lee Fields, The Budos Band, The Menahman Street Band, The Sugarmen Three und natürlich The Dap Kings bringen uns Soul, Funk, Gospel und Afrobeat in erstklassiger Qualität auf Schallplatte. Wer da nicht stillhalten kann, dem ist nicht zu helfen.

STS DIGITAL

STS DIGITAL ist das audiophile Masteringstudio in Amersfoort / Niederlande. STS hat sich schon längst einen Namen im audiophilen Himmel gemacht. Die Liebe zu guter Musik und zu gutem Kang hat dem Gründer Fritz de Wirth den verdienten Erfolg beschert. Seine Spezialität ist der selbst entwickelte MW Coding Prozess. Audio CDs klingen räumlich und warm. Sie lassen die Härten und Spitzen unliebsam produzierter CDs vermissen. Man glaubt, SACD oder Hochbit zu hören! Die Schallplatten sind ähnlich sorgsam gemastered. Die Pressungen sind schwer und absolut plan. Sie gehören wohl zum besten, was man bekommen kann.

"In a STS recording, you will find:
1. The warm sound, that acoustic instruments posess on their own, but is often not captured by sound-technicians.
2. Acoustic placing and recognition of the musicians in the recording space.
3. Phase purity of a recording, both the electric phase (good cable/fibre connections etc), and the acoustic phase must be acquired through proper placing of the microphones.
4. Symmetry in the recording; this means always placing the microphones in such a way that on both the left and the right side there’s an equal division of signal, and not placing mono suport microphones on the extreme left and right.
5. Transparency and clarity in a recording. This does not mean an overly sharp recording, but one of softness in tone and clarity, in which especially the 3-dimensional recording-space is being displayed."
